CROSS COUNTRY
Cross Country is run in the fall. Practices consist of trail, grass and road running, distance specific training, as well as learning proper warm up and cool down techniques. Practices are held behind Newtown's Reed Intermediate School. Races are usually between 1.5 miles and 2 miles in length. The program is for both boys and girls in grades 5th grade through 8th grade. Along with regular season meets athletes have an opportunity to run in both the league and state championship meets.
