The Newtown Hawks track and field team has been in existence since 2007, lead by head Coach Eileen Fish, who after 20+ years of high school coaching has joined the Cross Country and Track coaching staff at Fairfield University in 2010.
The Newtown Hawks team is an opportunity for beginning runners as well as seasoned athletes to train and improve. We offer individual instruction in all areas of track and field and cross-country. In the fall and winter the team is open to 4th through 8th graders. The spring program is for 3rd through 8th graders and the summer camp is for 6-15 year olds.

A member of the newly formed WCC middle school league the Hawks compete in meets throughout Fairfield County as well as Invitational and State Championship competitions.

There will be buses available to and from all away meets. These will pick up athletes at the Middle and Intermediate schools and drop them off at the Intermediate School.

Head coach Eileen Fish is a CIAC licensed coach as well as an AAU and USATF certified team coach. Coach Fish began her coaching career in 1982 at Sheehan High School in Wallingford Connecticut. A high school and college runner herself she now devotes her time to coaching young athletes.
